Sarkodie has expressed his worry about not attending the funeral of the late highlife musician Nana Kwame Ampadu.
The funeral which took place during the weekend started with a funeral service and lying in state on Friday, October 7, 2022 and continued with the burial on Saturday, October 8, 2022 in his hometown at Obo Kwahu.
The funeral service which was attended by a lot of dignitaries including President Nana Akufo-Addo, was held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.

Although there was a representation of the older musicians like Bessa Simon, Kojo Antwi, David Dontoh, Maame Dokono, Pat Thomas, Teacher Africana, and others, a lot of the younger musicians were not present.
One of the younger artistes who a lot of people expected to have seen at the funeral was rapper Sarkodie, who Nana Ampadu expressed his fondness for while he was alive. He even announced they were working on a song together.
Sarkodie, unhappy with his absence from the funeral, has tweeted.
“Ashamed and hurt for not making it to the Legend Nana Ampadu’s funeral … Uncle David Dontoh told me about it last Sunday… Crazy how I had it on my mind from then and still missed it 🤦🏿♂️but all the same Rest In Peace Grandpa May the almighty keep you safe 🙏🏿”
Nana Kwame Ampadu is known for songs like ‘Agatha’, ‘Ebi Te Yie’, ‘Oman Bo Adwo’, among others.
He has over 800 recorded songs to his credit.
