Black Sherif’s new album is making waves internationally with encouraging reviews and massive streaming numbers.
Another notable personality to acknowledge Blacko’s exceptional talent is veteran Nigerian superstar rapper, MI Abaga.
Having listened to ‘Soja’, taken off his debut album The Villain I Never Was, MI Abaga took to Twitter to write simply, ‘Wow.’
He tweeted; Black Sherrif Soldier.. wow

When MI Abaga returned to Nigeria in 2003 from America, he started his singing career. He rapidly started making mixtapes with his friend Djinee after finding his niche in a field dominated by people like Modenine, Ruggedman, and Eedris Abdulkareem.
This produced the critically acclaimed tune “Safe,” in which he mimicked songs by prominent Nigerian artists. MTV Vibe and other African radio stations also gave the song significant airplay.
He received recognition for the song at several events, including the Nigerian Music Video Awards, City People, and N.E.A.
The excitement around the release of Safe resulted in praise for his debut studio album, Talk About It, which was given an 8.5/10 by 360nobs’ Oye Akideinde.
His first mixtape, Pyeriboy, won Musician of the Year at the 2008 Modemen Awards and Best Hip Hop Artist at the City People Awards. He subsequently issued a sample mixtape titled Illegal Music in 2009. Illegal Music II, which was released in 2012, followed the first mixtape.
