American singer Ashanti is the latest international celebrity to announce her intention to visit Ghana.
A few weeks ago, Nicki Minaj also said the same and even added she has a business with one Ghanaian artiste in the offing which has to be executed once she gets to Ghana.
Ashanti who was interviewed on Ebro’s show recently and, referring to her name, was asked if she had had a chance to visit Ghana.
According to Ashanti, in 2019, during the year of return, she had plans of visiting Ghana but unfortunately, she broke her ankle and couldn’t make it.

Ashanti Douglas was born on October 13, 1980 in Glen Cove, New York. Her mother, Tina Douglas, is African-American and a former dance teacher, her father, Ken-Kaide Thomas Douglas, is also African-American and a former singer.
Ashanti’s mother named her after the Ashanti Empire in Ghana. They believed that the Ashanti women had power and influence, and Tina wanted Ashanti to follow that model.
Her grandfather, James, was a civil rights activist who was associated with Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s.
The Beyond the Return Secretariat has put together activities to sustain the Year of Return effect. In so doing, it has put the spotlight on ‘December in GH’ project, which is already attracting a lot of visitors to the country.
