“Stop Using My Music!” Kwame Yogot blasts Bawumia after NPP disgraced his grandad

Popular Ghanaian musician Kwame Yogot has accused Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of using his hit song, “Biibi Besi”, for political campaigns without his consent.

In a viral video, Yogot expressed his displeasure and issued a warning to Bawumia and his campaign team, urging them to cease using his music.

Yogot said that he was not aware that his music was being used by the NPP, and that he had not given them permission to do so. He said that he was “very disappointed” by the NPP’s actions, and that he felt that they were disrespecting him and his family.

Yogot’s grandfather, James Gyakye Quayson, was the Member of Parliament for Assin North until he was disqualified from office in 2022. Quayson is currently facing a court case challenging his disqualification.

The prolific musician said that he felt that the NPP was using his music to “stir up emotions” and to “gain political mileage”. He said that he did not support either the NPP or the NDC, and that he did not want his music to be used for political purposes.

He stressed that he had filed a complaint with the Copyright Society of Ghana, and that he was considering taking legal action against the NPP.

The NPP has not yet responded to Yogot’s allegatio.Kwame Yogot is known for  several hit songs, including “Biibi Besi” and “Aben Wo Ha”.
