Renowned Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu has been reported dead.
Following a prolonged period of illness, Mr. Ibu faced significant health challenges, culminating in a series of surgeries, totaling seven in number. Despite the valiant efforts made during these medical procedures, his condition persisted, necessitating the difficult decision to amputate one of his legs as a measure to preserve his life.
On November 6, 2023, a statement was shared on his official Instagram account by his family, confirming the successful completion of the surgeries. However, the solemn revelation was made that one of Mr. Ibu’s legs had to be amputated during the process.
Regrettably, today marks another sorrowful chapter as reports have surfaced of Mr. Ibu’s passing, just four months after the surgeries. His demise leaves behind a legacy of laughter and joy, as his contributions to the Nigerian film industry and beyond will be remembered by many.
