Shortly after the announcement of the passing of Nollywood stalwart John Okafor, affectionately known as Mr. Ibu, his adopted daughter took swift action by assuming control of his TikTok account, boasting over 1 million followers. She proceeded to rename the account under her own name and proceeded to delete all traces of his pictures and videos.
In a recent Instagram post by the controversial blogger Tosin Silverdam, accusations were leveled against Jasmine for seizing control of the late actor’s TikTok platform, which had amassed a substantial following.
Mr. Ibu, who had been battling illness since October 2023, succumbed to cardiac arrest on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Evercare Hospital in Lekki.
It’s worth noting that prior to this incident, Nigerian authorities had apprehended Mr. Ibu’s son, Oyeabuchi Okafor, and Jasmine Okekeagwu, his adopted daughter, on charges of alleged conspiracy and defrauding the late actor of N55 million.
