Cardi B sparks debate online, says couples should split bills to 50/50

Cardi B recently delved into the contentious topic of couples splitting their bills equally. The rapper highlighted the importance of women taking a more proactive role in providing for the household, rather than relying solely on their partners to shoulder all financial responsibilities.

While some resonated with Cardi’s perspective, others criticized her, labeling her as hypocritical.

In a video shared by Twitter user Kameron Bennett, Cardi B emphasized the need for women to be pragmatic and not allow social media to distort their perceptions.

She challenged the notion of expecting one’s partner to foot all expenses when both individuals earn similar incomes, stressing the necessity for a mutual contribution towards common goals such as homeownership or entrepreneurship.

Cardi advocated for a collaborative approach, citing the example of previous generations where couples worked together to build their futures.

She underscored the importance of shared responsibility and partnership in achieving financial stability and growth, asserting that such values are fundamental.

“If you and your man make the same amount of money but only he pays all the bills, how are you going to save up for a house or a business? Because he isn’t going to afford it. Some things need you guys to work together.

“People are out of touch with reality. Your parents worked and helped each other; you’re acting like that never happened. If we want to grow, let’s go half and half; it’s not a one-way street. I’m old school.” She said.
