Bongo Ideas, a well-known Ghanaian blogger whose real name is Albert Nat Hyde has shared a disturbing story.
In an interview with DW, he recounted a terrifying experience that took place in the early morning of March 14.
According to Bongo Ideas, a group of men claiming to be police officers broke into his residence at 3 am. They threatened him with violence, including pointing guns at his head and beating him. He claims they also warned him to stop speaking critically about President Akufo-Addo.
This account comes after Bongo Ideas posted tweets considered offensive towards the President and his wife. The Ghana Police and National Security have both denied any involvement in his detention, leaving the situation shrouded in mystery.
