The 25th edition of the Ghana Music Awards will kick off on March 28, 2024, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre. The launch event will unveil this year’s nominees and introduce a new headline sponsor for the awards.

(1) The 25th Anniversary Launch:

The Ghana Music Awards Festival has evolved into the most significant event in Ghana’s entertainment landscape since its inception in 2000. The primary goal remains unchanged: to identify, acknowledge, and reward exceptional achievements within the music industry.

Comprising an Academy consisting of DJs, presenters, producers, among others, and a board composed of industry experts and the general public, the scheme has celebrated the music, the people, and the culture of Ghana for 24 years. The 25th-anniversary launch, scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2024, will welcome industry stakeholders, media, musicians, and music enthusiasts.

(2) The Nominees Unveil:

Following the submission deadline, the board, research team, and the GMA secretariat have meticulously reviewed works from 2023. This rigorous process involves thorough listening, reviews, and extensive analysis of data, lyrics, and production quality. The unveiling of nominees is a moment of excitement and anticipation, with artists and their fans eagerly awaiting to see who earns a coveted spot in each category.

A unique twist for the 25th anniversary is that all categories will be revealed at the launch event. Who secures nominations in their respective categories? Which artists make history? These questions will be answered on Thursday, March 28.

(3) Sponsor Announcement:

For several years leading up to the 25th Anniversary, Vodafone Ghana served as the title sponsor of the Ghana Music Awards, giving rise to the name Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). With the recent announcement of Vodafone’s name change to Telecel, discussions have arisen regarding its impact on the Ghana Music Awards. Industry insiders are curious about the implications of the name change and the potential introduction of a new title sponsor. The sponsor announcement is scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2024.

The event will feature electrifying performances by some of Ghana’s finest musicians. Experience it LIVE at 8 PM and on various social media platforms, including Ghana Music Awards on Facebook and Charterhouse Live on YouTube. Additionally, it will be accessible online via several social media handles, www.ghanamusicawards.com, and blog portals.

The Ghana Music Awards is an initiative by Charterhouse Ghana.
