Wrap of Chief Moomen’s Mansa Musa and the Trail of Lost Gold

Ghanaian playwright and poet, Chief Moomen’s Mansa Musa and the Trail of Lost Gold successfully ended at the National Theatre on Saturday, March 15.

Patrons were treated to electrifying performances, depicting the ancient Malian king, Mansa Musa and his riches.

As the visionary behind The Mansa World, Chief Moomen expressed his gratitude to the many patrons who attended the play

He said, “We’ve been running from December 2024 till March 2025. It’s very exciting, we’re trying to build it for the global market. It’s great to see the audience reactions. The reviews have been positive. We have a number of productions coming from The Mansa World.”

The National Theatre performance attracted a host of distinguished guests, who graced the occasion with their presence.

The two-and-a-half-hour production immersed the audience in a breathtaking fusion of lights, sound, graphics, and history, leaving patrons in awe and excitement.

In an interview with GhanaWeekend, Chief Moomen further emphasised his team’s dedication, saying, “We are very excited the audience appreciated the quality of the work because a lot of hardworking and dedicated goes into crafting such a masterpiece.”

With the Accra chapter closed, The Mansa World is now poised for a grand continental journey, bringing African storytelling to a global stage. Chief Moomen’s vision continues to unfold, promising to showcase the richness of African history and culture to audiences far and wide.
