Nigerian artiste Davido has disclosed that he has no personal connection with fellow musicians Wizkid and Burna Boy.
The multi-award-winning singer made these comments during an appearance on the Breakfast Club show, where he opened up about various aspects of his life, including his upcoming wedding set for August in Miami, USA.
Davido also said that a collaboration between him and his two other colleagues isn’t impossible, but explained that a personal bond between the trio seems unlikely, suggesting that certain individuals profit from their lack of closeness.
He explained that the music industry has evolved beyond just the three of them, pointing to a new wave of talented artists carving their own paths. This, he argued, renders the notion of a definitive “big three” outdated.
“I don’t have a personal relationship with them, I did at a point but I don’t anymore. I feel the culture is so big and the conversation is bigger than the big three right now, there are other artistes who are globally known now.
“It’s not impossible for the three of us to make a record together, but I feel some people around us do not want that to happen. I believe people make money from us not having a personal relationship. “
