Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel has declared that his presence in Jamaica is stronger than that of fellow artiste Sean Paul.
Speaking in an interview on The Breakfast Club, he claimed that if the two were to walk on opposite sides of the street in Jamaica, Sean Paul would go unnoticed.
Kartel’s comments show his strong belief in his influence and popularity, especially in Jamaica.
He believes that being the king of dancehall is not about international fame, but about how much you impact the culture.
Known for songs like ‘Fever’ and ‘Clarks,’ Vybz Kartel, often called ‘World Boss’, has been one of dancehall’s most talked-about figures for years.
His raw lyrics and powerful image have kept him in the spotlight, even while behind bars.
Sean Paul, who has won a Grammy and seen major success worldwide, has not yet responded to Kartel’s remarks.
“Not necessarily setting records makes you a king, but your dominance and influence makes you a king. If I hit on the street of Jamaica and Sean Paul is on the other side of the street, he’s gonna be unnoticed,” Kartel said.
