Women who undergo body enhancements lack self confidence – Yvonne Nelson

Ghanaian actress and Film Producer, Yvonne Nelson has made it clear she’s not interested in altering her body, emphasizing her contentment with her natural look.

Speaking on Joy News’ Career Trail, Nelson said she’s never considered body enhancement and doesn’t believe it brings any real value to women.

“I don’t think enhancing any part of my body is going to help me in any way,” she said.

Yvonne added that if she ever found herself in a hospital, it would be for childbirth — not cosmetic surgery.

“If I were to do anything to my body, I would rather have a lot of babies. If I want to find myself in the hospital, it’s because I want to have babies, not because I want to cut somewhere and chip something in,” she declared.

She also touched on the psychological side of cosmetic procedures, suggesting insecurity often fuels the decision.

“I feel that it is a mental thing. It is a lack of confidence,” she stated.

As a mother, she wants to be a positive influence and set the right example for her children. She expressed concern over the uncomfortable questions kids might raise if she altered her appearance.

“One day you will become a mother, your kids are going to see you. They will go like, mummy in your previous pictures from 1992, your backside was flat. What happened to it? Did you blow it? Is it a balloon? I am not ready for such questions.

“My daughter is like me, she talks a lot, and she will ask you all the questions. I do not want to answer such questions. I am okay with how I look. I am content.”

Yvonne also warned young women against pursuing body enhancement, pointing out that it can become an unending cycle.

“I do not expect any of you to do that, because the minute you do that, it never stops. The minute you alter any part of your body, you would want to alter another part. You would want a fuller lip. You would want a bigger ear. You would always want to change something about you,” she advised.
