In a groundbreaking move to enhance the country’s global identity, President John Dramani Mahama has launched the Black Star Experience initiative.
This visionary programme aims to redefine Ghana’s standing in culture, arts, tourism, and creative engagement.
The initiative seeks to bring together key stakeholders, policymakers, creatives, and media representatives, marking a significant step towards a new era in Ghana’s cultural and tourism landscape.
The initiative also seeks to promote the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Ghana, inviting visitors from around the world to experience its unique offerings.
At the launch event in Accra on Thursday May 1, President Mahama emphasised the initiative’s potential to stimulate the economy, stating, “The Black Star Experience will not only showcase our culture but also attract tourism that will generate substantial revenue for our country.”
He highlighted that the initiative seeks to honour the legends of the creative industries who are now elderly and no longer able to perform.
By inviting international tourists to explore Ghanaian culture, the Black Star Experience aims to foster economic growth and cultural exchange.
The initiative is expected to provide a platform for local artists and creatives, contributing to a more vibrant and sustainable creative sector.
