Fetish priestess turn evangelist, Patricia Asians, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, is celebrating the decision by President John Mahama to pardon Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, following intense public backlash over his dollar gift to her.
In a video sighted by Ghana Weekend on Agradaa’s Facebook page, the controversial televangelist is seen with white powder sprinkled in her hair, visibly ecstatic as she speaks on a phone call.
She is heard singing praises and expressing gratitude for what she describes as divine intervention.
“I kept praying, hopeful that nothing bad would happen to Sammy Gyamfi,” Agradaa emotionally recounted. “It was just a kind gesture he showed me, but I was deeply worried he might lose his job because of me. I told God, ‘If Sammy Gyamfi loses his job, I’ll burn my church to ashes.’ God did not let me lose my church and He did not let Sammy lose his job. God has spoken. I’m so happy. Thank you, God.”
The controversy began when a video circulated online showing Sammy Gyamfi handing Agradaa some US dollars, reported to be $800. The footage sparked widespread criticism and prompted a formal petition to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), with many questioning the appropriateness of the gesture and calling for disciplinary action.
In response to the uproar, Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced at a press briefing on May 14 that, President Mahama had decided to resolve the matter without sanctions. While the President deemed the situation unfortunate, he accepted Sammy Gyamfi’s apology and issued a general caution to all public officials.
With the matter officially closed, Nana Agradaa has turned her relief into celebration, framing the presidential pardon as nothing short of a miracle.
