Music mogul Dame Dash has found himself in the middle of controversy after publicly declaring that he was the interim chairman of Revolt TV.
The claim, made during his recent sit-down on The Breakfast Club, quickly made waves across the hip-hop community. But within hours, Revolt leadership stepped in to set the record straight.
On the show, Dash confidently told hosts that he had taken over as chairman of the network founded by Sean “Diddy” Combs. He even suggested that his own streaming service, AmericaNu, would be showcased on Revolt as part of a “pathway to acquisition,” painting a picture of new leadership and expansion at the Black-owned media company.
However, Revolt CEO Detavio Samuels swiftly issued a rebuttal to staff and the wider public. In an internal memo later confirmed by media outlets, Samuels dismissed Dash’s statements as inaccurate, stressing that the entrepreneur had no official role within the network.
He further emphasised that there is no signed deal and that Revolt is not in talks over an acquisition led by Dash.
The dispute deepened when Dash cited a quote from Samuels—originally reported in an online magazine—as proof of his appointment. Samuels countered, saying the quote was fabricated and never came from him. He also highlighted that Revolt’s leadership structure remains intact, with no changes at the executive level.
Still, Dash has doubled down, insisting that his arrangement with the company was genuine. He has shared private text messages with Samuels in an attempt to back up his claims, though legal experts point out that text exchanges are not binding agreements.
For now, the situation has left fans and industry insiders watching closely. What began as a bold declaration on a popular radio platform has turned into a public clash over truth and credibility. One thing is clear: until Revolt makes an official announcement, Dame Dash is not chairman of the network.
