Dentaa dismisses political ambitions, vows to continue diaspora advocacy

Chief Executive Officer of GUBA Enterprise, Lady Dentaa Amoateng, has dismissed suggestions that she may be venturing into politics anytime soon.

In an interview with  Hitz FM on Tuesday, September 23, the celebrated diaspora advocate stated that political office is not part of her plans.

According to her, she is satisfied with the impact of her current work and intends to continue creating change from that space.

“Not now. I feel like I still have a lot of work to do. The work is huge. So I prefer to keep doing what I am doing. Because what I do affects the government anyway. It benefits the government. I want to be where I am. I am happy with where I am,” she said.

Dentaa’s remarks follow the announcement by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, naming her as one of the recipients of a diplomatic passport. The honour was also extended to Grammy-nominated musician Rocky Dawuni, YouTuber Wode Maya, broadcaster Anita Erskine, and artist Ibrahim Mahama. While some interpreted the recognition as a possible springboard into politics, Dentaa maintained that her current role already contributes to national development.

Beyond GUBA, she has established herself as a leading voice in Ghana’s creative and cultural industry. Through The Dentaa Show and other initiatives, she has promoted Ghanaian identity worldwide while creating networking opportunities that connect Ghanaian talents with international partners.

Dentaa has also served on the Governing Board of the Ghana Tourism Authority, where she worked to strengthen the tourism sector and attract collaborations with global acts.

For her, the mission remains clear—bridging Ghana and the diaspora, not chasing political power.

I have worked with all governments, and I can’t be political. I want to be known as someone who amplifies any government that comes in. I want to portray the goodness of Ghana.” – Lady Dentaa Amoateng #DaybreakHitz pic.twitter.com/MS7vYDf38e
