A Chinese national, Paul Chin Chon Chen, is among the 824 new lawyers officially called to the Bar as Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
In a video sighted by Ghana Weekend on X on Friday October 10, Paul shared his excitement and motivation for pursuing legal education in Ghana, describing the journey as both challenging and rewarding.
When asked why he chose to study law in Ghana instead of China, Paul explained:
“I was born in Taiwan, but I came to Ghana when I was young and I’m currently doing business in commerce. I thought being a lawyer is a very useful thing to do. Legal education and knowledge is a powerful tool, and I believe it will help me with my business in Ghana.”
Reflecting on his two-year experience at the Ghana School of Law, he acknowledged the immense support he received from his lecturers and mentors during his training.
“It’s been very challenging, but I got a lot of help from the lecturers and judges where I interned. Without their help, it would have been a lot harder. I’m very grateful,” he said.
Paul’s story has since drawn admiration on social media, with many commending his dedication and integration into Ghana’s legal community.
He joins the list of professionals contributing to Ghana’s diverse legal landscape, proving that determination and hard work transcend nationality.
