After 10 years of consistent nominations without a win, Ghanaian media personality Anita Akuffo has finally claimed her moment of victory at the Radio and Television Personality Awards (RTP Awards).
Akuffo emerged as TV Development Show Host of the Year, marking a deeply personal milestone in a journey defined by perseverance, faith, and unwavering passion for broadcasting.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, February 16, the broadcaster shared a heartfelt message reflecting on her decade-long journey. She revealed that despite repeated nominations over the years without a win, she never stopped showing up, doing the work, or believing in her calling.
“For 10 years, I have received several RTP nominations and never won any. Still, I showed up. Still, I did the work. Still, I believed,” she wrote. “Ten years later, there’s finally one sitting on the shelf.”
She described the award as a reminder that progress often happens quietly, even in seasons where recognition is absent.
Akuffo expressed gratitude to everyone who supported, corrected, encouraged, and grew with her along the way, emphasising that none of the love went unnoticed.
She also gave glory to God, acknowledging divine strength through what she described as “every unseen season.”
The RTP Awards, an annual celebration of excellence in radio and television in Ghana, is organised by Big Events Ghana. The awards scheme was first announced in January 2011 and has since become one of the country’s key platforms for recognizing outstanding media personalities.
Akuffo’s victory has been widely celebrated by fans and colleagues alike, many of whom see her story as a powerful testament to resilience, consistency, and faith, proof that sometimes, the win arrives right on time.
