Afro-dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has praised Black Stars goalkeeper Ati Zigi for his outstanding performance despite Ghana’s 1-0 defeat to Colombia, which ended the country’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
Taking to X shortly after Saturday’s Round of 32 defeat, Stonebwoy said the scoreline could have been far worse if not for the goalkeeper’s heroics.
“That defeat would have been more humiliating than 1:0 if not for Ati Zigi. You did this for Ghana. You are highly appreciated.”
Ati Zigi produced a string of crucial saves throughout the match, keeping the Black Stars in contention despite Colombia’s relentless attacking display.
His performance limited the South Americans to a single goal, but it was not enough to prevent Ghana’s elimination from the tournament.
Stonebwoy’s message quickly resonated with many Ghanaian football fans, who also applauded the goalkeeper for his resilience and commitment during the match.
Ghana’s defeat brought an end to the Black Stars’ 2026 FIFA World Cup journey, while Colombia progressed to the Round of 16.
