Veteran Nollywood actor and media personality Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, is celebrating his 65th birthday with heartfelt reflections on ageing, purpose, and gratitude, saying that one of life’s greatest rewards is becoming comfortable in one’s own skin.
Marking the milestone on Monday, July 6, the screen icon shared a series of striking photos on Instagram alongside messages that looked back on his six-and-a-half decades of life and the lessons they have brought.
“The celebration has just started. Age has its privileges. One of them is becoming comfortable in your own skin. The rest is grace,” the actor wrote.
In a separate birthday message, RMD described his 65-year journey as one shaped by purpose, resilience, and divine grace, noting that life has taught him not to take anything for granted.
According to the actor, while life offers no guarantees, he considers himself blessed with what truly matters.
“65 years of purpose, presence, and grace. I’ve lived long enough to know that life owes us nothing. Yet, by God’s grace, it has given me everything that truly matters.
“The privilege to dream. The courage to begin. The strength to endure. The wisdom to evolve. The grace to remain.
“For every lesson. For every season. For every soul that has walked this journey with me. I am deeply grateful. The journey continues.”
Widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most respected actors, RMD has enjoyed a career spanning several decades, earning acclaim for his performances in film and television while remaining one of the industry’s most influential figures.
His birthday reflections have since drawn warm wishes from fans, colleagues, and admirers celebrating both his legacy and enduring impact on African cinema.
