In spite of recent tensions between the two Dancehall artistes that escalated into a brawl on the stage of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) between members of their entourages, it appears Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy might have finally called a truce.
Fans of the two on Social Media were stunned when Shatta Wale, known formally as Charles Nii Armah Mensah, shared a photo on his official account of the two seated beside each other on Thursday.
The photo was accompanied by a cryptic message from the ‘Dancehall King’ but with reconciliatory undertones on Facebook and Twitter which suggested that the pair might be working on a project together.
Unity is strength
Love is the key to many doors
Brotherhood is Loyalty
Peace is Freedom ..

Reactions to the post have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans of both musicians expressing their ecstasy at the apparent reconciliation of the two stars following the fracas that marred the VGMAs.

While some have congratulated the pair on what appears to be an attempt to work out their issues others expressed their excitement about the possibility of a collaboration between the two.
There are a few dissenters, however, who feel that this frankly long-overdue amity might be short-lived.
Stonebwoy’s own account was silent on this reunion with his last personal post being a promo for his upcoming performance at the finale of reality show Talented Kidz.

The Rivalry
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are two of the most talented and most supported artistes in the country.
While their rivalry had been limited to fan arguments about which artiste was better, personal attacks had definitely heightened the tensions between the two and their fans.
Shatta Wale has been accused of mocking Stonebwoy’s limp in the past, while Stonebwoy had asserted that Shatta would be shot if he lived in Jamaica.
Things came to a head at the VGMAs when Shatta Wale and his team approached the stage when Stonebwoy was receiving his award for Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste.
This sparked a confrontation between the two sides with videos later showing the Ashaiman-based singer brandishing a firearm.
Punished
Both Shatta and Stonebwoy have faced public criticism for their roles in the incident, and were arrested before being granted bail of GHc50,000 each.
Their situations worsened when they were suspended indefinitely from the VGMAs and ordered to return the three awards they picked up between them on the night.
