Fancy Gadam has revealed that he nearly quit music after the accident that ended the lives of some fans in the northern part of Ghana.

The accident which occurred in June last year in Tamale when Fancy Gadam was welcoming Patoranking in a grand style to the North for a concert both were on broke the ‘king of the north’.

According to reports, the accident occurred when the convoy of Fancy collided with a truck which resulted in other incoming cars ramming into the others. From the accident, 8 people died and 20 were injured.

Speaking to Andy Dosty on the DayBreak Hitz, he said he almost gave up on his talent because the incident broke him.

He said he had to slow down after the incident and that he is back now to continue from where he stopped with more hit songs to take over the industry.

“I was at the airport already with Patoranking and I went there with the fan base but some few fans were coming to meet us up at the airport and the incident happened and I had to cancel my concert because of the accident that happened,” he narrated.

“It wasn’t easy for me. I nearly stopped the music”, he said.

“You know, for somebody to love you, support you and die for you, it’s not easy. So, I nearly stopped music but because of the encouragement from my fan base and then my management, they give me the hope to work again,” he added.

He went on to say the families who lost their beloved understood what happened and he was accepted as their own.

“Northern Region, we are one family so the families took it cool, everybody understands everything. They said I am also their son or their daughter so, everybody was like those that lost their people took it like it was God’s grace and then they welcome me, I went to visit every family that lost their children so whatever happened we give it to almighty Allah,” he said.

He said the decision to cancel the concert was his and his management’s and that human lives mattered more as compared to making money.

“It was not the mayor that shut down my concert. I personally, I and my management cancelled the concert because of what happened.

“Because no matter how the money we invested in that concert can’t buy life so myself and my management cancelled the concert”, he continued.

Touching on the accusations of the Mayor to have been involved in bloodshed and rituals, he said, “sometimes it’s normal because everything happens for a reason so, assuming incident didn’t happen, that words wouldn’t have come out so I just give thanks to almighty Allah”.

“I wasn’t happy because if it is you that somebody said that to you and you know you’re not into that you’ll definitely get sad so, I was very sad,” he added.

He has a song titled ‘customer’ which features Nigerian artiste, Patoranking.
