What genuinely started as a party ended up being a packed concert as Stonebwoy and Davido took turns to thrill their audience with their hit songs.
They performed hit after hit, without breaks.
The event which didn’t have a proposed time to commence, received a host of fans from both sides in the thousands with many refused entry, because the tickets had sold out and restrictions were being enforced to maintain and observe the safety protocols of Covid-19.
However, the mammoth crowd within the venue could not be controlled either and the only hope left for patrons was keeping their face masks on.
Stonebwoy led the charge and set the ball rolling doing what he does best with his BHIM Band and entertaining his fans who couldn’t help but sing along.
Davido, despite challenges with his microphone, still rocked the fans.
The audience close to the stage, with mostly phones erected, increased the crowd engagement from both artistes as every moment was captured by their mobile cameras.
The event which lasted for about an hour and forty-five minutes of non-stop music from both acts, did not have any other guests artistes.
However, it did host a galaxy of superstars such as Asamoah Gyan, Freedom Jacob Cesar, Emmanuel Adebayor, Prince Tahoe, Stephen Appiah, Efya, Moesha Budong and others in attendance.
In an interview with Stonebwoy after the event, he first thanked everyone for coming including his special guests, apologized to his fans who were denied entry and also to the fans who made it inside for the overwhelming challenges with crowd control.
“I think next time we should perhaps make this a concert instead.” he said.
“I’m sorry we had to turn some of you guys away. We oversold our tickets,” he continued.
Stonebwoy also hinted that the success of the ‘Activate’ song may require that he and Davido release a joint EP— ‘Activate EP’.
He’s looking to take the Activate Party to the ends of the world to promote Ghanaian and African Music as he strongly believes the ‘Activate’ song has opened a lot of opportunities for the African continent in regards to music.
