Highlife musician Afriyie Wutah has added his voice to calls for television stations to limit the time they dedicate to adverts.
This comes a few days after a video of Kennedy Agyepong blasting his television staff for showing ads for a long duration on a show on NET 2 TV, went viral.
He said in the video that it was not prudent to show all the ads at a go when they can be spread out in the course of the programme.
Afriyie in a Facebook post expressed his displeasure on the matter.
“Watching a primetime TV show can be very annoying lately. Producers think so little of the audience that they think the audience would tolerate 12 minutes of advertising for every 15 minutes of content. Truth is, most viewers don’t stay during the commercial breaks,” he wrote.
“I can understand the need for advertising on commercial TV channels, but the recent increase in the number of minutes permitted per hour seems to be just too much!” he added.
However, some have also argued that running television stations are no joke and that, it is necessary to run the adverts so to keep their sponsors and get them their money’s worth.
