If you are a young man who has plans of approaching actress Yvonne Nelson with a marriage proposal, you might want to reconsider your decision or restrategise.
Yvonne Nelson is not bothered about marriage; it does not move her, to say the least.
She would rather want to have a partnership with a man she has affection for.
Speaking in an interview with Quophi Okyeame on Angel FM in Accra, she said she sees marriage as a serious venture which requires one’s total commitment.
“I’m not really big on marriage. I believe in partnership. I believe the most important thing is to have a partner who cares, who’s responsible for your kids. Kids are more important, but I don’t like the whole title of being married and society putting pressure on women.
She even said she once had to return a promise ring back to a man she was dating because she did not see a future with him.
“On my 30th birthday, I had a ring [from someone I was dating] and I returned it, so it’s not a do-or-die affair. I don’t want to cheat on anyone,” she noted.
According to Yvonne, she wanted someone she could spend her life with forever and one who could be a responsible father to her children because she did not get that love while growing up.
Yvonne is premiering her movie ‘The Men We Love’ on 14th February, 2022 at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra.
