For many artistes, getting the financial resources to release their maiden music works is a big problem.
While some are lucky get investors, others also rely on friends and family.
According to rapper NiiAddo Quaynor, also known as Tinny in the Ghanaian music industry, has financed his first-ever studio album ‘Makola Kwakwe’ with money sent to him by his family.
Speaking in an interview on Y 107.9 FM’s Weekend Rush’ show with Kokonsa Kester. Tinny said: ‘After school, my nuclear family contributed funds and sent them to me here in Ghana to record my first album. They were in the United Kingdom then and I was here with some members”.
“I had to find a producer whom I knew was the best at his game and that was Hammer. I felt like working with him because I realized singing on his records would be best for me and indeed, he was the best,” he added.
Tinny is one of the very few Ga rappers in Ghana, who became prominent in the rap game. His rap delivery was so infectious that people who did not understand Ga enjoyed it.
He released songs such as ‘Oofee Dull’, ‘Makola Kwakwe,’ ‘Obi Do Ba,’ ‘Anaconda’, and others.
