Ghanaian comedian, Emmanuel Nkansah Ansong, known in showbiz circles as Lekzy DeComic told ghanaweekend.com, a story of how he once went blank on stage.
The stand-up comedian who has been in the industry for 10 years said during one of his comedy gigs, the moment he got on stage, he could not remember any of his lines.
According to him, it took his former manager, to scream from backstage, to put him on track.
“I got on stage and I greeted them. I bowed my head, I wanted to lift and start my routine and all I could see was smoke. I just could see people, but I couldn’t see their heads; I could only see smoke and I greeted like four times but all this was in my mind’s eye, there wasn’t any smoke there. I couldn’t even recollect one of my jokes – both old and new,” he said.
Lekzy added that when it happened, his only resort was to speak to a chair he sent as a prop to the stage to perform with, then he heard a voice from backstage.

“My former manager Daniel Attoh screamed “hospital” and everything just cleared, and I came to my senses,” he said, explaining that his first comedy material on the night was about ‘hospital.’
Lezky DeComic is holding the second edition of his annual show called ‘Too Cute to be Mute.’
The show is slated for September 30 at the National Theatre.
It will feature other comedians including Funny Face, OB Amponsah, Clemento Suarez, and General Ntatia.
Lekzy will also play host to Kenyan comedian, Simi, and music star, Mr. Drew.
