Medikal says he has no plan to return to Twitter after his account was suspended for breaching the social network’s community standards.
The popular rapper made his intention known in a Snapchat conversation between him and the Ghanaian influencer, Kalyjay.
Medikal’s official (verified) Twitter account, which had over 320,000 followers, was suspended for allegedly impersonating the president of Ghana.
MDK had changed his handle to “Mr. President” and updated a photo of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with the hashtag “#NewProfilePic.”
Elon Musk, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, tweeted on November 6, 2022, that “coming forward,” the company will not accept impersonation on the platform.
The billionaire, who is the wealthiest person in the world, said, “Any name change at all would trigger temporary loss of verified checkmark.”
Twitter has just revealed that the “verification indicator,” often known as the “blue tick,” would cost users $US7.99 per month.
The rationale behind the new changes by Musk, is to Twitter profitable following years of poor revenue numbers.
