Managers and staff of Citi TV/Citi FM have donated some food items, toiletries, and detergents to the Baptist School Complex and Home (BASCO) at Trotor near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
For 17 years, the Citi FM Foundation has been visiting and donating to BASCO and also undertaking projects worth thousands of Ghana Cedi to help with the management of the orphanage.
The items donated included bags of rice, boxes of cooking oil, cartons of milo, milk, boxes of bananas, bags of gari and maize, and tissue papers.
Making the donations on behalf of the Citi FM Foundation, Frema Adunyame said it hopes that the donations will go a long way to help in managing the facility.
“Citi FM and Citi TV have taken it upon themselves to give back to society and that is why we always come back to BASCO for this worthy cause. We are sure this will be impactful because we have succeeded in putting smiles on the faces of these children. We are very excited that this will go a long way to lessen the burden as you manage the facility.”
Rainbow Trust Foundation also donated books to the orphanage and pledged its continuous support with Golden Exotics also donating boxes of bananas.
Receiving the items on behalf of the orphanage, the Director of BASCO, Rev. Victor Ofori Amoah applauded the Citi FM Foundation for its continuous support since 2005.
“This year is the 17th year you are coming here despite the bad roads to come and celebrate with us, we are grateful for the donations and your involvement with the orphanage has opened up the place and we say a very big thank you
“We thank you very much and on behalf of the children in the house, we say thank you very much.”
The head of administration of Citi TV/Citi FM, Mathew Idun, also presented a cheque for GH¢30,000 on behalf of the viewers and listeners of Citi TV and Citi FM to help with expenses in the orphanage.
The chief of Trotor who is a past student of BASCO was also at the event and thanked the Citi FM Foundation and all donors for the love shown to the school and the Trotor township.
