Popular rapper Edem was arraigned in court this morning, December 12, after being accused of striking and killing an unidentified woman on the George Walker Bush Highway early Saturday morning.
According to reports, Edem was driving an unregistered Honda Touring vehicle when the incident occurred at around 2:00 AM. Sadly, the woman involved in the collision has passed away.
The rapper appeared before the Kaneshie District Court, presided over by Nana Abena Asor Owusu Amenyo, facing charges of careless and inconsiderate driving, as well as negligently causing harm. However, the court did not accept his plea during this initial appearance.
He has been granted bail of GH¢50,000 and is required to return to court on February 15th, 2024. His legal team will likely contest the charges and provide their defence during the upcoming court sessions.
The incident took place shortly after Edem participated as a guest on a television program at Abeka Junction on Saturday night, extending into the early hours of Sunday morning.
