Yemi Alade to perform at the opening ceremony of 2023 AFCON

Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade will perform at the opening Ceremony of the 2023 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Stade Olympique Alessane Ouattara in Abidjan.

Yemi Alade, 34, partnered with Ivorian popular group Magic System and Egyptian rapper Mohamed Ramadan to record the official song ‘AKWAABA’ for AFCON 2023.

They performed the official anthem for the first time during the draw in October.

The AFRIMA and MTV African Music Awards winner will rock the stage before the opening game between Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau.

The Queen of Afrobeats is expected to dazzle patrons at the most prestigious football tournament in Africa with her global hits like “Johnny,” “Woman of Steel,” and “Oh My Gosh,
