Day two of Citi FM and Citi TV’s well-attended ‘Back to Your Village Food Festival’ comes off today, Sunday, March 31, at the forecourt of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

The first day of the event, Saturday, March 30, treated patrons to various delectable cuisines, drinks, and snacks from all parts of the country, with a touch of rural setting that left patrons reminiscing their traditional hometowns.

Today promises to be even more exciting and memorable.

Rebranded from “Back to Your Village Food Bazaar” and as an integral part of the 2024 Heritage Month celebrations, patrons are treated to delicious and authentic Ghanaian dishes like Banku, Omo tuo, Fufu, Tuo Zaafi, and locally-brewed drinks such as Asaana, Lamugee, Sobolo, Zomkom, etc.

There was an infusion of cultural performances and dance by some troupes on the first day.

The infectious KwanPa Band was also there and treated patrons to authentic Ghanaian songs and lyrics.

A dedicated kids corner has also been created for children to ensure there is something for everyone, irrespective of age.

Speaking on day one, Steven Asamoah Boateng, the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, emphasized the critical role Ghana’s diverse cuisine plays in driving employment and bolstering small businesses.

The Chieftaincy Minister expressed appreciation to the management of Citi FM and Citi TV for putting together such a programme to promote tourism, food, and culture in Ghana.

The Back to Your Village Food Festival is an annual two-day event, formerly known as the “Back to Your Village Food Bazaar,” which is a cornerstone of the Heritage Month celebrations.

This year’s event is sponsored by Frytol, Fortune, Miss Cookie Spices, Pan African Savings and Loans, Everpack, and GB Foods.
