The Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of Lynx Entertainment Richie Mensah has urged Ghanaian artistes to get business savvy before pursuing their music careers.
According to Richie, most Ghanaian artistes sign contracts without knowing what they’ve signed.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Citi Business Festival on the Topic ” The Music Business’ Richie Mensah revealed his amusement at the frequent complaints of artistes accusing managers of stealing their money.
“I laugh when I hear artistes say My manager is chopping my money… The root of the problem is that most artistes don’t grasp the contracts they’re signing. They lack basic knowledge about who holds which roles, like the executive producer or manager…There is AI, they can learn all these things before pursuing their musical careers”.
After producing records for several artistes, Richie Mensah set up Lynx Entertainment’s record label and released his debut album All of Me on the label in 2008.
Award-winning artistes KiDi and Kuami Eugene are just a few of the talented musicians who have found a home at Lynx Entertainment label.
