Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu has refuted claims that former minister of education and Energy, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo is arrogant.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu, whilst addressing the president among other NPP bigwigs disclosed that if there is anyone very close to Napo, it is he.

The Asantehene recounted how he supported Napo in school by paying his fees and giving him counsel where necessary.

He disclosed that he has played a major role in Napo’s political ambition, stating categorically that he was involved in Napo’s decision to venture into politics.

He also revealed that before Napo became the minister of education and energy, the president of Ghana, president Akufo Addo sought his permission.

Talking about the arrogance tag of Napo, Otumfour said there is no iota of truth in those allegations.

According to him, being someone very close to Napo, he could boldly say without a shadow of a doubt that Napo is very humble and not as arrogant as many people have said.

Otumfuo believes that such allegations levelled against Napo are aimed at bringing him down, but because he exists, nothing of such could happen.

Speaking to Napo, Otumfour said he should make sure he does good things to prove to the NDC and Ghanaians at large that he is only outspoken and not arrogant as many have said.

Talking to Bawumia, Otumfuo advised that the Vice President should be a watchdog over his grandchild Napo so that he could become a better version of himself.

According to him, should Napo do anything wrong, Bawumia should not hesitate to contact him so that he could speak to him.
