Football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, uploaded a video on his Instagram page on Wednesday with the song “Active” by Asake from his most recent album, “Lungu Boy,” playing in the background.
In less than four hours, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s post went viral and received 18.7 million views, 1.2 million likes and over 20,000 comments.
The forward, who is the captain of Portugal and plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, was seen playing padel tennis in the video with the caption, “Looks like my Padel skills rubbed off on you, congratulations on winning the premier @arturocoello_!” Asake’s upbeat song played in the background.
This is the second time the footballer has demonstrated interest in Afrobeats music. In March 2023, he posted a cute video of his three children dancing to the song “Calm Down” by Nigerian singer Rema on social media.
