Gyakie, the Ghanaian Afro-Fusion star known for her captivating sound and heartfelt lyrics, has announced the title of her debut album, “After Midnight.”
In an Instagram post, Gyakie shared the inspiration behind the album title stating, “Almost all the songs on the album got recorded after midnight. Within those same hours, I get the best inspiration to write. The peace and quiet, the sounds from the birds, the serenity, everything from those hours helps my creativity a lot.”

“I’ve done a lot of crying after midnight too. When I’m in my down moments, I schedule the tears for when I get home from work, then I let it all out. Also, growing up, my mother would always pray for us after midnight while we were deeply asleep. It was a consistent routine, and she still does it whenever we’re together. To sum it up, this album hits different when you listen at 12:01 AM or in the early hours of dawn.”
Expect “After Midnight” to explore the complexities of love, capturing the essence of vulnerability that emerges in the late hours. Gyakie’s soothing voice and poetic storytelling promise to take listeners on an emotional journey through various forms of love—a topic she’s known for.
