The third edition of the Ghana Chieftaincy Awards (GCA) and Royal Investment Summit 2025 has been launched under the theme, “A United Front for Promotion of Environmental Awareness, Royal Investment, and Land Tenure System.”
Held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 in Accra, the event brought together chiefs, queen mothers, government officials, and key stakeholders. It was spearheaded by the Obokese Foundation in collaboration with The Black Star Experience, the National House of Chiefs, and Ram Media Concepts.
Founder of the Obokese Foundation, Nana Obokese I, emphasised the vision behind the event, stating, “Our goal is to preserve our heritage while creating lasting social impact. With strong national support, this event will become a powerful space for leadership and unity.”
Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, lauded the initiative, calling on citizens to uphold their cultural values.
“Any nation that honours its elders secures its future,” she said.
She also disclosed that first-quarter allowances for traditional leaders have been released, adding, “These awards must ignite a deeper national conversation.”
Also addressing the gathering, Presidential Staffer and representative of the Black Star Experience, Rex Omar, highlighted the economic potential of traditional leadership.
“By leveraging the influence of chieftaincy, we can attract ethical investment, revive cultural enterprises, and create jobs that honour our heritage whilst securing our economic future.”
The launch sets the stage for the main awards event, scheduled to be held in Kumasi from October 3 to 4, 2025.
