Management of Citi FM and Channel One TV, on Saturday, August 2, paid a visit to the family of the late highlife icon, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, to express their condolences following his passing.

A delegation from the media outlets visited the residence of the celebrated musician, where they were warmly received by family members and close associates.
The team was led by Frema Adunyame, Head of Events and Partnerships at Citi FM and Channel One TV, who conveyed the media group’s heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

“We’re here to honour a man whose music touched generations. Daddy Lumba’s legacy is unmatched, and we wanted the family to know that we stand with them during this difficult time. We will ensure a live broadcast of the candle night vigil to show our support,” Frema Adunyame said.
Daddy Lumba, known for his immense contribution to Ghanaian highlife music, was widely admired for his unique style and decades-long influence on the music industry. His death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans, musicians, and institutions across the country.

The team also signed the book of condolence, which has been opened to the public.

The visit forms part of the nationwide outpouring of tributes, as fans, industry players, and institutions continue to celebrate the life and legacy of one of Ghana’s most revered musical icons.
Daddy Lumba’s timeless music remains a significant part of the country’s cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, a candlelight vigil is currently underway at Independence Square in his honour, drawing scores of fans and admirers.
