Dancehall star, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale is once again making headlines following his recent encounter with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The outspoken artiste, who was arrested and later released last week, used his performance at Osu on August 26 during the Homowo festival celebrations to fire back at critics and reaffirm his resilience.
“I no fear anybody for Ghana. If dem try me, Shatta Wale, I go buy new Lamborghini next two months,” he said
Shatta Wale was taken into EOCO custody on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, after voluntarily reporting to the agency’s Accra headquarters with his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo. Investigators are probing alleged irregularities involving a luxury vehicle seized on suspicion of being tied to a U.S. financial scandal, as well as possible breaches of Ghana’s tax laws.
He was released the following day, August 21, after meeting revised bail conditions of GH₵5 million with two sureties.
The “Dancehall King” has long been known for his flamboyant lifestyle and controversial remarks. His latest comments have sparked divided reactions, with some fans praising his confidence and others dismissing his words as unnecessary bragging.
Regardless of the criticism, Shatta Wale appears determined to keep his larger-than-life persona intact — and, if his declaration holds true, another luxury car may soon join his fleet.
