The Swedru Secondary School (Swesco) Old Students Association North America Chapter turned up in style on Saturday, August 30, with its annual reunion and fundraising dinner at the Dulles Airport Marriott Hotel in Virginia, USA.
Close to 100 Swesconians showed up, mostly from the East Coast, with others travelling from Ohio and Chicago, making it a night of laughter, music, dancing, and most importantly, networking.

The event was powered by the board of the US Chapter led by Dr. Bernard Kwabi-Addo and had as its special guest, the Global President of the Swesco Alumni Association, Mr. Samuel Attah-Mensah.
While the night was about fun and reconnecting, it also doubled as a huge opportunity for career and business networking. Younger Swesconians especially found the gathering valuable for meeting old friends, linking up with industry professionals, and exploring new collaborations across North America.

In his address, Global President, Mr. Attah-Mensah encouraged all alumni to think about creating the “Swesco Legacy,” urging younger old students to see giving back to the school as a way of shaping future generations.
“I entreat you all to view giving back to Swesco as a way to shaping future generations”He also threw a call to Swesconians in Canada to get on board and join the movement. “This is indeed captivating and I urge the Canada chapter to take cue and get on board this train of impact”
The evening ended on a high note with dancing, photo ops, and renewed pride in being Swesconian.
Beyond the fundraising, the reunion reminded attendees of the power of the Swesco network; a space not just for nostalgia, but for building lasting friendships, businesses, and careers.
