The Tsadidi Street Art Festival has rapidly grown into one of the most influential cultural events along Ghana’s coastal belt transforming Keta into a rising hub for art, creativity, and cultural tourism.

As the festival returns from October 31st to November 2nd, its impact on the community continues to deepen socially, economically, and culturally.

Held annually, the festival celebrates the unique identity and heritage of Keta through visual arts, music, storytelling, food experiences, and cultural performances. What began as a community art initiative has now evolved into a cultural movement that draws visitors, creatives, and culture lovers from across Ghana and beyond.

Now in its fourth year the festival brings together residents visitors, artists and culture enthusiasts to celebrate the history, spirit and heritage of Keta. It also provides a space where local narratives are shared through contemporary and traditional art forms in an environment open to all.

The festival was founded by GlennSamm (The Walking Artist), a performance artist who is widely recognised for using art as a tool for community engagement and social awareness. He is teamed with Ian Kwakye, Karl Kplorla Gidiglo, Kofi Dovlo and PY Addo- boateng who have contributed to shaping the experience and expanding its reach.

Beyond its cultural value, the Tsadidi Street Art Festival has also grown into a key contributor to tourism and economic activity in the region. Each year, the event attracts visitors from across Ghana and beyond, resulting in increased patronage for local businesses including hotels, guest houses, transportation services, food vendors and market centers. The festival also creates temporary employment opportunities for young people who take on various roles in coordination, vending and performance.

Activities lined up for this year include the Children Dorm Project, Bonfire Night, storytelling sessions, cultural performances, the Tsadidi Procession, art installations, graffiti and mural art displays, the Xanu Experience by Feels 99 Chopbar, and traditional indoor games.

The festival has received support from the Ghana Tourism Authority, underscoring its role in promoting cultural tourism and community-based development. Media partners including Citi FM, Channel One TV, Ghana Weekend, Jubilee Radio, Kekeli Radio and Sancity Radio have also helped broaden national awareness and visibility for the event.

The Tsadidi Street Art Festival has become more than just an annual celebration. It is contributing to a cultural revival in Keta one that preserves heritage, inspires creativity and encourages economic growth. As the festival returns this year, Keta continues to position itself not only as a host community but as a destination for cultural experience and artistic discovery.
