The Young and Loud Festival returns for its third edition, louder, greener, and more inspiring than ever.

Scheduled for Saturday, November 22, at 9 a.m. at the Ho Jubilee Park, Ho, Volta Region, this year’s event once again brings teenagers together to celebrate creativity, raise their voices, and take action for change.

Anchored on the theme “Our City, Our Future – Teen Creativity for Environmental Action,” the 2025 edition calls on teenagers across Ho Municipality to use their talents in music, fashion, dance, visual arts, and digital media to drive conversations and spark action toward a cleaner, greener, and safer city.

Young and Loud Festival 2025 is an initiative of the Young and Safe Project under the Healthy Cities for Adolescents (HCA-II) programme, supported by Fondation Botnar. The festival continues to serve as a dynamic teen-led platform where teenagers can discover their potential, express themselves creatively, and champion the issues that matter most to them.

Looking Back: Building Momentum from 2023 and 2024

Since its launch in 2023, the Young and Loud Festival has become a symbol of teen creativity and empowerment in Ho. The inaugural edition in 2023 gathered over 1,500 teenagers under the theme “Using Creativity as a Tool for Social Change.” It sparked conversations around mental health, empowerment, and self-expression, setting a strong foundation for creative advocacy among young people.

In 2024, the festival expanded its reach, engaging over 3,000 young creatives through its signature segments — the Street Art Festival, Creative Futures Bootcamps, and Talent Competition, under the theme “Skills, Opportunities, and Jobs for young people.” That edition demonstrated how creativity can unlock personal growth, employability, and future-ready skills.

Together, these editions have transformed Young and Loud into a cornerstone of Teen’s culture, proving that when young people are given space to create, they can lead lasting change.

Why This Year’s Theme Matters

Environmental challenges such as flooding, waste management, drought, and the loss of green spaces are shaping daily life in Ho. These issues affect how young people live, learn, and dream. Yet, many teenagers lack the platform to express their concerns or lead solutions.

The 2025 theme, “Our City, Our Future,” changes that narrative. It empowers teenagers to use creativity as a tool for environmental advocacy, inspiring them to imagine and help build a city that is cleaner, greener, and safer.

Through art, storytelling, and innovation, Young and Loud 2025 will position young people not just as participants, but as leaders in shaping a sustainable future for Ho.

Festival Highlights: A Creative Call for a Greener Ho

This year’s festival experience is designed to turn creativity into purpose, inspiring young people to reimagine Ho through art, fashion, and performance.

Street Art Festival – “Our City, Our Future” in Motion

The Street Art Festival will be the heartbeat of Young & Loud 2025, transforming Ho’s streets into vibrant canvases for environmental storytelling. Through murals, graffiti, and installations, teenagers will explore how everyday choices impact the city’s ecosystem, from waste and pollution to tree loss and flooding.

Divided into four experiences, See It, Feel It, Fix It, and Own It, participants will journey through awareness, reflection, and action. The segment will feature live painting, skateboarding, and a Green Pledge Wall, where teens will commit to advocating for a cleaner city.

Talent Competition – Voices for Change

The iconic Talent Competition returns with a renewed focus on environmental advocacy. Dancers, singers, poets, and visual artists will take the stage to express what “Our City, Our Future” means to them. Each performance will combine creativity and conviction, inspiring audiences to act for a better, greener Ho.

Objectives in Focus

Since its inception, Young and Loud Festival has remained committed to five core pillars:

Creative Advocacy: Empowering youth to use art for social and environmental change.

Talent Recognition: Celebrating creativity and inspiring personal growth.

Networking Opportunities: Connecting young talents with mentors and creative professionals.

Platform for Talent Showcase: Giving youth visibility and recognition for their work.

Career Exploration: Guiding young people toward creative, digital, and sustainability-focused careers.

Join the Movement

The Young and Loud Festival 2025 invites all teenagers, schools, youth groups, and art enthusiasts across Ho to participate in this exciting celebration of creativity and environmental action. Whether you sing, dance, paint, design, or simply want to make a difference, this is your chance to be seen and heard.

About the Young and Safe Project:

The Young and Safe project is a three-year initiative that aims to address key issues such as youth participation in city governance, sexual and reproductive health, mental health support, creative self-expression, and digital employment opportunities. The project is a collaboration between Node Eight, Ho Municipal Assembly, LoveAid Foundation, and Ghana Education Service and is supported by Fondation Botnar through the Healthy Cities for Adolescents Program (HCA-||), managed by Ecorys UK. The initiative aims to develop an inclusive and supportive community for young people in Ho, Volta region, Ghana by leveraging the capabilities of each partner. The Young and Safe project will also increase young people’s employability by helping them build their digital innovation and entrepreneurship competencies.
