Ghanaian rapper Opanka has opened up about his personal health choices, revealing that he deliberately avoids alcohol, smoking and sugary drinks as part of his commitment to healthy living.

Speaking in an interview with Etornam Kumashie on GHOne TV on  January 7, 2026, the musician said many people often neglect their health by consuming just anything without considering the consequences.

“We play with our health, like we eat anything, we drink anything,” Opanka said.

He was quick to clarify that his stance is a personal one and not a judgment of others.

“I don’t drink. I’m not saying those who drink are bad, I’m just talking about myself.”

According to the rapper, his lifestyle choices go beyond avoiding alcohol.

“I don’t smoke, and even if I talk about drink, not only alcohol, I don’t even take soda. I don’t take energy drinks. I take only fruit juice, like natural fruit juice. I don’t take those nectars,” he explained.

When the interviewer suggested that such discipline might be difficult to maintain, Opanka disagreed, noting that consistency makes it easier over time.

“When it becomes part of you, it’s normal,” he said.

Following the interview, several fans and social media users praised the rapper, noting that many people underestimate how challenging it is to cut off certain habits in order to stay healthy. Others described his lifestyle as inspiring and a reminder of the importance of being intentional about health and wellness.
