Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician Jackson Alfred Adofo, popularly known as JA Adofo, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for his consistent support during a difficult period in his life.

Speaking in an interview with Ohemaa Woyeje on Angel FM’s Xclusive, and posted on X on Tuesday January 27, 2026, the ‘Ankwanobi’ hitmaker revealed that President Mahama has been taking care of him since he fell ill.

According to the veteran musician, the president has been providing him with monthly financial support to help cover his medical expenses, alongside other forms of assistance.

“Ever since I fell sick, President Mahama has been giving me gifts, including money to buy medicine every single month. You can ask Mr Beautiful, because he is the one who brings the money,” JA Adofo disclosed.

The highlife icon stressed that the support is purely an act of generosity and not politically motivated, noting that he does not involve himself in politics.

“Truth be told, I don’t engage in politics, but he likes me, and that is why he supports me,” he said.

JA Adofo also spoke emotionally about the loss of his child, explaining that under normal circumstances, he would have invited the president to the burial, but chose not to do so out of respect for his responsibilities as head of state.

“My child has passed away, and ordinarily I would have invited him to the burial, but I understand the heavy responsibilities he carries as President,” he explained. “I will not disturb him because he is the father of the nation. However, I am certain that if he hears about it, he would come to support me.”

JA Adofo’s comments have sparked admiration from fans and industry players, many of whom have praised President Mahama for his compassion and continued support for Ghana’s creative legends.
