Nkyirimma Initiative, a creative technology and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy non-profit organisation, has announced the launch of its five-day pilot workshop for some schools in the Greater Accra Region.
The workshop themed ‘AI for Creators’ is scheduled to take place from 9th to 13th February, 2026.

The pilot programme will deliver one full-day AI and creative technology workshop per school, reaching five schools and at least 150 students in five days.
Designed for students aged 8 to 18, the workshops aim to introduce participants to AI literacy, creative technology, digital ethics, and innovation-driven problem-solving through engaging, age-appropriate, and hands-on learning experiences.

“At a time when AI is rapidly shaping how we learn, work, and create, it is essential that children are equipped not only to use technology but to understand it and engage with it responsibly,” said Abigail Aferi, founder of the Nkyirimma Initiative.
According to Madam Abigail, the pilot programme is a key step toward nurturing confident, ethical, and creative young innovators in Ghana. She believes children should not be passive consumers of technology but responsible creators who can use it to solve local problems.
About the Pilot
The pilot workshops represent Phase One of the Nkyirimma Initiative’s implementation model and are structured as one-day “AI for Creators” sessions for 20–30 students per school. Core components of the program include:
● AI Literacy & Creative Technology Education: Hands-on introduction to foundational AI concepts, no-code tools, and digital storytelling.
● Digital Ethics & Online Safety: Interactive lessons on data privacy, misinformation, and responsible AI use.
● Innovation & Problem-Solving Labs: Design challenges that encourage students to apply creative technology to real-world and local issues.
● Girls in Creative Tech: Promoting inclusion and gender balance by actively encouraging at least 50% girls’ participation.
