Ghanaian highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has disclosed that the wildest rumour he has ever heard about himself is that he is gay.
Speaking in an interview with Elsie Lamar on GhanaWeb TV on February 11, 2026, the Adult Music hitmaker was asked to share the craziest rumour he has encountered throughout his career.
“Craziest? Hmm… They’re all crazy though,” he said with a laugh.
Pressed further to single out one that made him question whether it was truly about him, he responded, “They’re all crazy. But what would be the craziest? That I’m gay? Yeah, I think that’s the craziest. Because I’m very straight.”
Kwabena Kwabena also addressed why he believes such rumours may have surfaced, pointing to societal tendencies to judge people based on appearance.
“We live in an environment where people judge people based on their appearance, and that is very deceptive,” he explained. “You cannot judge anybody by appearance. You need to encounter the person to know the person.”
He further noted that assumptions about someone’s sexuality are even more misplaced.
The award-winning musician’s comments have since sparked conversations online about public scrutiny, stereotypes, and how celebrities are often subjected to unfounded speculation about their personal lives.
