Rapper Sarkodie has disclosed that performing at major global sporting events like the FIFA World Cup, NBA Playoffs, or a high-profile boxing match would be a dream come true.
Speaking to ESPN Africa in the UK on February 10, 2026, ahead of his upcoming Rapperholic concert in March, the award-winning artiste shared his passion for sports and the kind of stages he hopes to grace in the future.
Asked about the top three sporting events he would love to perform at, Sarkodie responded, “Any boxing event, the NBA playoffs and definitely the World Cup.”
Beyond performing, the rapper also spoke about his love for football, naming Antoine Semenyo, Mohammed Salisu and Lamine Yamal as the top three footballers he would like to watch in action.
When it comes to African football legends, Sarkodie picked “Jay-Jay Okocha, Michael Essien and Abedi Pele” while listing Abedi Pele, Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan as his top three Black Stars players of all time.
The “Brag” hitmaker also mentioned Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool as his favourite teams.
Blending music and sports, Sarkodie even shared his preferred pre-match playlist — his own songs. “Brag, Homicide, Original,” he said.
With his global appeal and strong connection to sports culture, performing on one of the world’s biggest sporting stages may just be a matter of time for the Ghanaian rap icon
