Studio Manager at Channel One TV, Jimmy Quist, has graduated with a Master’s degree in Public Relations with Marketing from the University of Media, Arts and Communication – Institute of Journalism (UniMAC-IJ).
Quist was among about 250 postgraduate students who graduated during the institution’s 2nd session of the 4th Congregation ceremony held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Unimac-IJ’s auditorium at the South Legon Campus, Dzorwulu.
Speaking exclusively to Channel One TV, he shared the challenges he faced while balancing his demanding media career with academic work, describing the journey as both difficult and rewarding.
“It’s been wonderful and great having gone through this process for the past twelve months,” he said.
Quist explained that combining work responsibilities with academic deadlines became particularly challenging towards the end of the programme, especially during the completion of his thesis.
“Getting to the latter part, I couldn’t even come to the recordings anymore because I was behind time. All the same, my supervisor agreed to work with me on my thesis. Even though I thought I was finished, I needed to add a few more things, and that became a challenge,” he noted.
Beyond his work in broadcasting, Quist is also known in the entertainment industry.
He previously played Nii in the popular Ghanaian television series Efiewura.
Over the years, he has also worked as a DJ and served as a front desk executive before transitioning into media production.
He currently works as a studio manager at Channel One TV, where he has been part of the technical production team for several years.
His achievement highlights the determination of working professionals who pursue higher education while maintaining demanding careers.
