Christian Boakye-Yiadom, CEO of Chickenman Pizzaman, has assured Ghanaians that his chain still serves “the best jollof in Ghana,” following mixed feedback from international streamer iShowSpeed.
In a March 16 interview with GhOne TV, Boakye-Yiadom addressed the remarks, saying, “This is a very sensitive issue. When it comes to that incident [iShowSpeed’s feedback], the conversation goes beyond just Jollof rice, but it’s a conversation that talks about national pride. As a Ghanaian, I would have reacted the same way others did.”
He continued, “Taste is personal, and each person has their own preference. What happened is feedback from someone who consumed our product. Each of us has had to choose between two good products, and choosing one doesn’t make the other bad.”
Boakye-Yiadom emphasised that the chain values customers’ feedback, noting, “Genuinely, we believe some customers may have had experiences that made them feel that way too. That feedback is something we have taken as a catalyst to improve. I want to assure every client that Chickenman Pizzaman is still serving the best Jollof in the country, and we are committed to improving and growing as a company.”
On expansion plans, he added, “Pizza Man is known for growth. There are going to be a few more stores added this year, but it won’t be as rapid as before. This is responsible expansion where quality and consistency are guaranteed.”
Chickenman Pizzaman is a popular Ghanaian fast food chain known for its pizzas and Jollof dishes.
Earlier this year, iShowSpeed visited Ghana as part of his Africa tour and sampled the chain’s signature dishes, including its famed jollof rice, drawing mixed reactions that sparked conversations online about taste and national culinary pride.
